Celebrity participants will be asked to play 8 to 10 minutes in the game together with members of the Men’s and Women’s National Soccer Team. The soccer field will be reduced to the size of an indoor field to accommodate all fitness levels

Confirmed soccer participants include: Landon Donovan, Chris Albright, Brad Guzan, Alexi Lalas, Cobi Jones, Kyle Martino, Misty May-Treanor, Kristine Lilly, Abby Wambach, Julie Foudy, and Brandi Chastain.

Event sponsors include: Nike, Gatorade, Stanford Financial, and Sportskool

The Mia Hamm Foundation is a non-profit organization built upon the dual mission to: 1) raise funds and awareness for bone marrow transplant patients and their families, and 2) promote and help develop more opportunities for young women in sports.

In recent years, the Mia Hamm Foundation has organized the Garrett Game, a soccer exhibition game named after Mia’s late brother, Garrett, who died in 1997 from a bone marrow disease. The donations benefit bone marrow transplant patients and their families. Proceeds from the event benefit funds set up at Childrens Hospital Los Angeles.

2007 MHF Golf Classic Raises over $100,000
The Mia Hamm Foundation Golf Classic was held October 17, 2007 at the University of North Carolina's Finley Golf Course. Mia was joined by fellow athletes Nomar Garciaparra, Hubert Davis, Dan Jansen, Misty May, Carla Overbeck, Cindy Parlow, BJ Surhoff, and Natasha Watley. LPGA greats who joined in the fun were Beth Daniel, Meg Mallon, Marcy Hart and Donna Andrews. Adding to the group of celebrities were legendary coaches Dean Smith, Roy Williams, Anson Dorrance and Tony DiCicco. Presenting sponsors NIKE and Gatorade helped raise over $100,000 for bone marrow transplant patients and their families as well as for organizations that provide opportunities for girls in sports. Other sponsors included Johnson & Johnson, The Stanford Group, Wasserman Media Group, Sportskool, Eurosport, The Century Council and Duke Energy.

2006 MHF Golf Classic another Success!
The Mia Hamm Foundation Golf Classic was held October 18, 2006 at the University of North Carolina's Finley Golf Course. Mia, along with her former teammates Julie Foudy, Abby Wambach, Cindy Parlow, and Carla Overbeck joined LPGA greats Beth Daniel and Donna Andrews for a great day. Other celebrities such as television broadcasters Jane Crafter and Kay Cockerill added excitement to the mix. Additional athletes who played in the golf event included Nomar Garciaparra, Sue Bird, BJ Surhoff and Misty May. Rounding out the group of celebrities were legendary coaches Dean Smith, Anson Dorrance and Tony DiCicco. Presenting sponsors NIKE and Gatorade helped raise over $110,000 for bone marrow transplant patients and their families as well as for organizations that provide opportunities for girls in sports. Other supporters included Baja Fresh, Icy Hot, Eurosport, Stanford Group Company, sportskool and Design Nation.

Milwaukee Clinic benefits Make-A-Wish Foundation - September 2006
Members of the Marquette women's soccer program participated in a clinic with Mia that benefited the Milwaukee-area Make-A-Wish Foundation. They worked with 20 local youth soccer players and following the clinic, Mia held a photo and autograph session.
